There are tens of thousands of museums all over the world. For a relatively short list, see the List of museums. The museums of ancient times, such as the Musaeum of Alexandria, would be equivalent to a modern graduate institute. The modern meaning of the word can be traced to the Museum of Pergamon in Anatolia, which displayed artwork.

What are the reviews for the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science in Jackson, Mississippi?
Q. I am planning to visit the museum in the future, but I want to know how some previous visitors enjoyed the institution. Nevertheless, I want to see the museum be bigger and with more exhibits in the future.

A. Above is a link to, not the best, but good review. The above is a much better review. I would hurry over to see their special exibit. I saw a simular exibit in the Anchorage, Alaska Museum that was fantastic. Drive over to Vickburg to the battlefield site, there is a new, 2004, exibit of a Yankee Gunboat, sank by rebel forces and recently removed from the Mississippi River, very interesting.

How is the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science doing ?
Q. I have been visiting its website and pictures on the internet, and it seems to be a nice museum. However, I would like the museum to have more things besides Mississippi / another museum that displays local, national, and international items in Mississippi in the future. Nevertheless, the MMNS is nice, and I would like to visit it in the future.

A. Sounds like the Holocaust Museum; I had to go there years ago when i was doing research for a project and although I knew "all about" the Holocaust, actually going there and seeing the shoes eyeglasses teeth and hair had a huge impact on me and also all the enormous photographs they had lining the walls. To look at their belongings and know their fate was terribly moving and emotional, took me a while just to get my emotions under control. OTOH< I went to a swap meet inside a mall years ago and one guy had all this Nazi memorabilia and I had never seen any of it in real life so that was a huge shock, the swastikas helmets etc pure evil.
