Q. I am planning a scientific research on musea in Holland. The study is researching if difference in cultural background effects the extend to which people are satisfied with the experience of the museum. Can some people tell me which museums in The Netherlands have the most foreign visitors? I people can help me to develop a list of ten museums. And please also tell me how much (percentage) of the visitors is foreign in that museum on average.

A. I would imagine the main museums in Amsterdam : The Rijksmuseum, The Van Gogh Museum, The Anne Frank House but also the trashy tourist museums such as Mme Tussaud's wax museum and the Museum of Torture. In The Hague (Den Haag) : the Maritshuis (famous for its collection of Vermeers)

I really like picking a city that is the essence of the culture (I'd pick Rome for Italy and Barcelona for Spain). I like a mix of beautiful spaces (parks, nature preserves, vista, botanical gardens), architecture, musea, shopping and people watching. Any suggestions?

A. Cape Town is the answer - in the Gardens you get to feed the squirrels as well, and the view from Table Mountain makes it worth while, all the others you will be able to see and do at the Waterfront, the Castle and Longstreet

A. If you're only going to one city, go to Marrakech--hands down, no contest. In Casablanca you have the Hassan II Mosque that you can visit, as well as the ocean. But it's essentially the economic capital of Morocco. So there are a lot of businesses there, but Marrakech has a great deal more culture to it. You can see mosques anywhere in Morocco that you go, but if you go to Casa instead, you'll miss out on Jma Al Fnaa Square with its lively entertainment during the day (monkeys, snake charmers, etc.) and night (open air movable restaurants in the middle of the square and fresh orange juice for 3 DRM per glass--usually with a free top-up).
