How to terminate a David Lloyd gym membership without incurring their rediculous payments?
Q. I am a member at David lloyds gym where i am currently paying 67.95 a month. This is really starting to put a strain on my finances so i want to move to a cheaper gym. However David Lloyds say you have to give them 3 months written notice and pay for the 3 months which i find a tad unfair. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on how to get out of this contract without having to give them anymore money?

A. Essentially you agreed to (ie entered into) a contract as im sure you are already aware. However you could either be honest with them about your financial situation asking kindly for a relaxation of the term (although I wouldnt hold out to much hope), alternatively if you have only just joined the Gym there may be a "cooling off" period. Alternatively you could look at whether the contract offers the abililty to temporarily freeze your membership and hence payments for say six months if this were to help. Finally unless you can find them to be in any way in breach of contract it will be very difficult to get a costless exit. I dont recomment cancelling the direct debit, this will show as a debt default and will cause you no end of… [cont.]

Why is the Star of David involved so much with sacred geometry, and the platonic solids?
Q. I'm not Jewish but I do alot of research with science, physics, math, art, geometry, sacred geometry, architecture, etc and I see the star of david alot especially with sacred geometry, the platonic solids, and architecture. I see triangles involved with alot of things such as pyramids, math, etc and it seems like there are secrets about this symbol. What is the significance of the Star of David? Is it a key, or a portal of some kind? Does it symbolize duality? Love to get a Jewish perspective on this.
Asked by Erik T - Wed May 5 22:37:10 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It's not. It's just the symbol that, according to legend, David painted on his shield. (Which is why it's called "Mogen Dovid" [David's Shield] in Judaism). The Star of David doesn't have anything to do with sacred geometry, with "portals," with "keys," or with anything else like that. And it does not symbolize duality; that's a later concept thought up by non-Jewish occultists.

Is David Chase going to make a final movie of the sopranos?
Q. Hi it's been a few years since i watched the final season of the sopranos. And i was wondering if David Chase is going to make a big movie to finish it off. Or make a movie with everybody back again from the first seasons but in a different story line. Do you think he'll ever make a movie of the sopranos some day?
Asked by Butt Head - Sat Sep 26 11:47:01 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I don't think so, because the whole premise of the show was supposed to center around Tony's therapy, specifically his issues with his mother, so I highly doubt it, since there isn't anything left to cover. The show really ended the moment Melfi closed her office door for the last time after dropping Tony. Then again, if enough money is involved I'm sure it'll be considered, but I hope not. It's finished.

I'm going to keep looking, stay tuned ;) "The criminalization of persons with mental illness is commonly noted, and we now have many more persons with mental illness in jails and prisons than in mental hospitals. How far does Tina drive before passing David? What is her speed as she passes him?
Q. David is driving a steady 22.0 when he passes Tina, who is sitting in her car at rest. Tina begins to accelerate at a steady 2.50 at the instant when David passes.
Asked by hadalr - Wed Sep 10 03:18:37 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. They will have gone the same distance. David's distance: 22t Tina's distance: (1/2)(2.5)t^2 (1/2)(2.5)t^2 = 22t 5t^2 = 88t 5t^2 - 88t = 0 t(5t - 88) = 0 t = 0, that was when David passes Tina. t = 88/5, that is when Tina passes David. David traveled 22(88/5) = 387.2 Tina traveled (1/2)(2.5)(88/5)^2 = 387.2, so it is the correct time. Tina was traveling 2.5*(88/5) = 44.0 [units?]

What are your thoughts on the David Motari issue about killing the puppy?
Q. It's all over the news where I live. Apparently a marine named David Motari filmed himself throwing a puppy off a cliff. They even have websites devoted to it. What are your thoughts on the subject?
Asked by nekohakase - Fri Mar 7 07:49:57 2008 - - 17 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Certainly, Motari's behavior was deplorable. I do have to wonder, however, why this has received so much attention from the public. Do we choose to remove the blindfold only when a cute puppy is killed, preferring to keep it firmly in place when the countless other humans and animals, including soldiers, are slaughtered? Where is this outrage when civilians are killed? Does it really take a furry little dog to capture our attention? Yes--killing that puppy is an undoubtedly barbaric display, but so are the countless other incidents occurring in the war zones every hour of every day. I'm all for outrage, but let's prioritize the targets of our anger--the killing of an individual puppy is not at the apex of cruelty in this war.
