North Texas (also commonly called North Central Texas or Northeastern Texas) is a distinct cultural and geographic area forming the central-northeastern section of the U.S. state of Texas. North Texas is generally considered to include the area south of Oklahoma, east of Abilene, and north of Waco. North Texas, being more precisely the northern part of the eastern portion of Texas, does not include the Panhandle of Texas, despite the fact that it extends farther north. North Texas is centered upon the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, the largest metropolitan area in Texas. People in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas sometimes use the terms "Metroplex" and "North Texas" interchangeably. However, North Texas actually refers to a much larger area that includes many rural counties. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I have been told that you cannot have a basement in North Texas because of the loomy soil, limestone (acting as a sponge) and shallow water table, so the moisture content would not allow it. The countryside is covered with storm cellars. Years ago they had root cellars. I believe there is a way to Fiberglass the walls of your cellar, or basement. You would have to consult with a builder to see if it would be feasible, as well as cost effective. A whole lot would depend on your foundation, slab or pier and beam. Asked by BirdLives! - Sat Dec 27 15:19:10 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. I'm not a grad student. But if you're talking about UNT, I'm there. From friends I know who are in the music program, it's not easy and it's best to do it as soon as possible. You don't want to wait it out, and you have to be fully prepared. The website of UNT gives out full information about the Music department if you're interested. It depends on what you choose to do to apply. Whether you want to just transfer or fully go for it. I would say that transferring would be a good stet to go for, yet it's your call. If you want to know more information about the Music Department, you can contact the advisers on the site for more information. I hope this helps. Let me know if this is the school you're talking about. If not, I apologize for… [cont.] Answered by Stephee - Sat Dec 27 15:30:23 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "North Texas"
